De-nazification in Styria, with the Department of Justice as a case study

Justice was one of those socially sensitive areas which was examined especially carefully as part of de-nazification. After the autonomous de-nazification commissions, special commissions carried out personnel checks at the departmental offices. After early, strict rulings, less compromised people were reappointed and former National Socialists rehabilitated. Apart from research on de-nazification among judges and state attorneys, the article gives an overview of the state of resources on this topic in Styria.
